Richard S. Keirstead (CISSP, CISM) came to Japan from Montreal, Canada in 1988. He intended to stay only a year to study the Kyokushin style of Japanese karate and earn a black belt.
In between then and now he has had several Japanese publications released, been interviewed in a national newspaper, got married and had beautiful children, and picked up a postgraduate degree in international business law. He became an information security professional and has been in focusing on enabling business using technology and information security:
