About the webmaster

Richard S. Keirstead (CISSP, CISM, MBCI, ISO27001 LA, M.A., B.A., KCTJ) came to Japan from Montreal, Canada in 1988. He intended to stay only a year to study the Kyokushinkai style of Japanese karate and earn a black belt. But things changed in all those years.

In between then and now he has:

  • Had several Japanese publications released
  • Picked up a postgraduate degree in international business law.
  • Become an information security professional and has been in senior management of several small companies
  • Is currently an executive at Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC, a Big 4 accounting, audit, and Advisory firm. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a certified auditor for ISO/IEC 27001 and a certified Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI).
  • Is a Knight Commandeur of the Temple of Jerusalem (KCTJ), The Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, Priory of St. James, Canada
